The club were well represented at this years Staffordshire Schools Cross Country Championships, which took place on Saturday at Staffordshire University. As well as the chance to represent their schools District the main target for many was to earn selection to this years English Schools Cross Country Championships. In the Year 7’s race Izzy Miller finished 11th in 12.02. In the Year 8/9 Girls (Junior Girls) race we had 5 girls taking part and Charlotte Moore was our first finisher in 9th position closely followed by Misha Twardochleb in 14th, Elizabeth Clarkson in 15th, Amelia Loundes in 22nd and Scarlett Cotton in 37th position. In the Year 8/9 Boys (Junior Boys) race we had Lewis Nagington in 11th and James Rowley in 29th position. In the Year 10/11 Boys (Inter Boys) we had Jacob Droogmans finishing in 7th position. In the Year 10/11 Girls (Inter Girls) race first back was Alex Oakley in 6th position, with Grace Ranford in 9th, Shannon McCue in 10th and Lola Cotton in 19th. In the Year 12/13 Girls (Senior Girls) race we had our only individual winner and schools county champion, with Rebecca Twardochleb in 1st position and winning by 20 seconds, followed by Sophie Goodfellow in 4th position. Congratulations to all 15 Juniors who represented their respective school districts and especially to Alex Oakley, Jacob Droogmans, Rebecca Twardochleb and Sophie Goodfellow on there confirmed selections for this years English Schools Championships to be held at Wollerton Park, Nottingham on the 5th March whilst in the first year of there respective age groups!
