Jacob Droogmans and Elliot Smith began their long awaited track seasons on Saturday at Stretford taking part in the 1500m and 5000m respectively at the ever popular Trafford Open Meeting.
Jacob was competing in the B 1500m and secured a runaway victory in a time of 4:17.05 completing what was virtually a time trial having lead from gun to tape, just 2 seconds off his PB.
Elliot raced in the 5000m for the first time and had a fine debut run recording a swift 15:37.20 finishing in 3rd. Elliots time puts him as 3rd U/20 in the country at this point of the season!
Well done to both Jacob and Elliot, really strong first races of the season with much more improvement to come!
