Lauren Charlton gained her maiden road race victory with a comprehensive win at Sunday’s Uttoxeter Festival of Running Half Marathon. Competing in just her second half marathon the talented 19 year old from Newcastle (Staffs) AC ran away from the rest of the 319 strong field over the tough and hilly course to record a big new Personal Best of 88:25 to defeat team mate Michelle Buckle by over 3 minutes (91:29), with South Derbyshires Jenny Laing in third (91:36).
