The club had 5 athletes selected to represent Staffordshire in the latest Inter County match against Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales held in conjunction with the flat but twisty Birchwood 10km Road Race at Warrington on Sunday 18th August.
Rebecca Twardochleb, Lauren Charlton and Sophie Goodfellow made up half of the Staffs Women’s team, whilst Ben Bewley (gaining his first county vest) and Jacob Droogmans were part of the mens team of six.
Ben set a great new PB running 35:40 for 22nd whilst Jacob ran 38:00 for 52nd (4th U20). The Staffordshire Mens team won the inter county challenge.
On the ladies side Becky was 4th overall in 38:23, Lauren was 6th in 38:36 (PB and 1st U/20) and Sophie was 10th in 39:20 – the ladies Staffordshire team were convincing winners and Becky KLauren and Sophie also won the Club team prize within the main race. Congratulations to all five athletes from us all at the club.
