A Coach full of our junior athletes/parents/officials and coaches left Ashfields at 8:30am on Sunday for the trip down to Corby to compete in the first fixture of this years Heart of England Track and Field League. Having been promoted last season we were looking to get off to a good start in Division 3. The league caters for athletes from U/11 up to U/17 male and female and for Senior ladies too but we are now blessed with enough U/17’s and U/20’s despite exams to allow our seniors to just concentrate on the Midland League.

Our juniors competed well all day and achieved a score of 404 points from all the events and officials points. The scoring system the league employs meant that we finished in 4th position on the day, highlighting the fact that we need a strong turnout of athletes in every age group if we are to challenge for promotion at the remaining two fixtures (3rd June and 2nd July). Congratulations to all our junior athletes and thank you to all the officials, coaches and parents/guardians who came to support the juniors. Thank you to Rachel Wakefield for the photos below. Results will be added HERE as soon as possible.
