Several of our Juniors have been racing over the past few weeks, achieving some great results/times.
On Saturday 26th November 15 year old Jordan Nixon took on the seniors once more over the very hilly Cheddleton Christmas Pudding Race. Jordan finished in 18th position in a time of 38:15 and was the first Newcastle runner home.
Wednesday 30th November saw two of our Juniors, Sophie Goodfellow and Grace Ranford competing for Newcastle College at the West Midlands Cross Country Championship, held at Lilleshall, Shropshire. Congratulations to Both Sophie and Grace who have been selected to represent the West Midlands at Aprils AOC Sports Championships in Nottingham.
Saturday 3rd December saw Jordan Nixon race at Congleton parkrun, Jordan finished in 4th position overall in a time of 18:07, whilst Lucy Brownsword competed at Hanley parkrun finishing in 28:05 for 112th position.
On Sunday 4th December Jacob Droogmans, Ryan Wood and Matt Cuthbertson took part in the clubs own Dales Dash around the hilly Apedale Country Park. First back in 13th position overall was Jacob recording 41:37, next was Ryan in 152nd with a time of 54:18 and Matt finished in 210th in 1:01:38. Well done to all three athletes and congratulations to Jacob on winning the Margaret Barker Trophy for the first U16 finisher.
