Sundays home race, the Newcastle 10km saw several of our juniors take part. All five athletes recorded PB’s despite the course being “undulating”. In ideal racing conditions our first juniors back were Jacob Droogmans (37.45 for 20th overall) and Jordan Nixon (38.14 for 23rd overall), which currently ranks them at 8th and 9th in the country for their U/15 Age Group! Rebecca Twardochleb finished in 41.25 to finish in 53rd overall and as 3rd Lady and 2nd Senior Lady. Sophie Goodfellow finished in 96th overall with 44.10 as 7th Lady and 3rd Senior Lady, Gabby Trotman finished in 179th overall and 9th Senior Lady in 47.21. These performances rank Becky 11th and Sophie 16th Nationally in the U/17 age group. Becky was also the 1st Newcastle lady and Becky and Sophie were 1st and 3rd counters as part of the victorious Newcastle Ladies Team. Excellent performances by all five of our Junior athletes!
