Staffordshire AAA’s Track and Field Championships – 23/5/15

Today saw 6 of our Juniors take part in this years Staffordshire AAA’s Track and Field Championships held at Northwood Stadium.

In the U/13 Girls 1500m Misha Twardochleb finished 4th, just outside the medals in a big new PB of 5.40.1 – a 10 second improvement and a time which ranks her at 169th in the country so far this year.

In the U/15 Girls 800m Alex Oakley knocked another 4 seconds of her best to record a new PB of 2.36.9 in 6th position. Vienna Shelley qualified for the final of the 100m, running 14.6 seconds in the heat and 14.7 seconds in the final, finishing 8th. Vienna also competed in the Long Jump, finishing in 7th position with a Seasons Best 3.88m

We had two competitors in the U/15 Boys 1500m, with Jacob Droogmans and Jordan Nixon renewing their rivalry from last cross country season and both athletes ended the day in the top 100 rankings nationally. Jacob gained silver with a big PB performance of 4.26.7  – a 16 second improvement, which ranks him at 25th in the country. Jordan finished 5th and was also rewarded with a new PB of 4.38.0 – a 13 second improvement.

James Fradley did a fine middle distance double in the U/17 Mens 800m and 1500m, with a Seasons Best and victories in 1.57.7 and 4.15.1 to claim golds. James is now ranked 17th (over 800m) and 67th (over 1500m).
