The final fixture in this years Midland Track and Field League took place on Sunday at Kidderminster & Stourport with our team in the relegation positions and needing an inspired performance to remain in Division 5 after a season hit by a lethal combination of exams, illness and holidays.
Needing to beat Banbury Harriers by 2 places on the day the pressure was on our small team of athletes and officials but we pulled off the great escape, finishing in our highest position this year in 4th and with Banbury finishing in 6th that meant we were both tied on 11 league points – this meant that it goes down to total match points which was 1182.5 to us and 1097 to Banbury which means that we remain in the division for next season!
A huge thank you to everyone that has turned out for the club over the four fixtures, our athletes and officials have all done the club proud once again. For those that haven’t competed/officiated please consider it for next year to help the club go from strength to strength.
