Knighton 20

This was the first running of the Knighton 20, replacing the previous Stafford 20. The course was three laps round fairly quiet country roads, there was reasonable amount of climbing but mostly easy angled, so a modest amount of height gain overall.

There were eleven Newcastle runners taking part, many doing it in preparation for a marathon, some for their road runners points, and some just because they felt like it.

There were pb’s for Martyn Davies, Jason Blount, Bruce Johnson, Stephen Wood, Amanda Wood, Ruth Parsons, and Janet Bisson. An extra mention for Ruth who knocked the most time off her previous best, 43 minutes.

In the NSRRA the results mean that Jason and Bruce are now second and third in group C, Jason equal on points with the leader. Nigel Symms is still third in G, despite only having done one race. In group W Ruth and Belinda are level on points in second and third.

In the age groups Jason is second in the men’s 40-44. Ruth is second in Ladies 16-34. Amanda is top of the Ladies 50-54. Belinda is top in the Ladies 55-59.
