Rebecca Twardochleb travelled down to the Bedford International Stadium to compete at the England U23 Track and Field Championships, which also acted as the European Championship Trial and was streamed live on the BBC.
Becky was competing in the 1500m against athletes who have regularly won major events and represented Great Britain over the past few years but was undaunted by the level of competition and went with the early pace. When the athletes at the front kicked with 800m to go Becky couldn’t quite stay with them but she battled hard to record a new PB of 4:40:97 finishing in 13th in her first Athletics National Final.
