Birmingham League XC Nov 7th

A team of seven went to Leamington for the Birmingham League XC race.

Steve Ratcliffe flew round in 16th place. Jamie Pringle finished well in 24th. Tim Twentyman was 44th. Tom Clowes did well to finish 79th in his first experience of such tough cross country conditions. Mark Cooper was 5th counter, doing well to stay on his feet without the benefit of spikes. One reflection of the conditions was Neil Gerrity having to stop three times to put a shoe back on, after the mud pulled them off. Neil was consequently a bit below par, but still 6th counter. Nigel Symms was the insurance against disaster, as seventh finisher.

The main objective, staying out of the relegation zone, was achieved, not too comfortably. We beat Trentham, which is always a bonus. We need a few more runners really, there’s always going to be a week when someone gets injured or ill at the last minute. More volunteers please.
